Event Description

A native of Prague, the singer Veronika Vítová graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and College. In addition to working on the music scene, she teaches vocals in the department of popular music at the Jan Deyl Conservatory, while also pursuing a number of other artistic projects. One of them includes a jazz band that previously covered the music of Bill Evans (Tribute to Bill Evans). In 2011, she founded the vocal sextet SKETY, with whom she performs at festivals and clubs around the Czech Republic and Europe. They have amassed several music awards including from Taiwan, Australia, Aarhus in Denmark, Tampere in Finland as well as at the prestigious international competition Vokal Total in Graz. Veronika also dedicates a portion of her time to classical music. Projects include working as a soloist with the Berg Orchestra and more recently with the Musica Panica trio, which focuses on Renaissance music. She makes regular guest appearances in the Jazzdock Orchestra, based at Jazzdock, one of Europe’s best jazz clubs. On top of all that she’s also in the process of putting together her debut CD.
